Babies

3 months- 12 months approx
There is a very high ratio of staff to babies in our baby room which ensures that each baby receives the individual attention that they need at this early stage. We follow each baby’s routine at home and any concerns or special requests parents may have are accommodated. The baby floor has a separate sleep room, a separate nappy change room and a separate baby / wobbler menu that adapts to each baby’s stage of development.
Wobblers

12 months- 18/20 months approx
At appropriately 12 months our babies will move into the wobbler room. In the wobbler room activities, meals and sleep times are more structured while still allowing flexibility for individual needs. Our room and activities are specifically designed around a wobblers need for experimentation and exploration. Children will usually spend about 6- 8 months in our wobbler room.
Toddlers

18/ 20 months- 3 years approx
When children move into the toddler room they move into a more structured environment with more advanced equipment. This is an age when children begin to play together. Vocabulary increases greatly and sentences rather than just words are formed. Activities and curriculums are designed around these many changes to enhance their individual development. Children are toilet trained while in the toddler room as staff and parents work together to follow the same routines.
Pre-School
3 years- 5 years

In pre-school children are introduced to a classroom environment. They become used to sitting at a table and concentrating for longer periods of time. The Montessori method and other teaching methods are introduced by our trained staff. Children will learn the fundamentals of reading, writing and mathematics. Our curriculum also concentrates on languages, arts and crafts, the world we live in, music, freeplay, cookery and personal and social development. Parents are informed on a regular basis as to how their child is progressing. In the pre –school room children will learn the basics to more than equip them for the school environment.
Afterschool
5 years- 11 years

Children availing of the afterschool option can begin their day with breakfast in Tadpoles followed by the school drop or they can be collected from the local school in the afternoon or both. The afterschool cirriculum includes supervised homework time and extracurricular activities such as music, cookery, arts and crafts, computers, freeplay and many group activities. Children have a hot meal in the afternoon.
Sessional Montessori
3 years – 5years

We offer a sessional Montessori class Monday to Friday 9.30- 12.30 during the school term. Montessori teaching emphasizes self directed activity on the part of the child and observation on the part of the teacher. Children teach themselves at their own pace in a specifically designed environment. Our Montessori class is taught by a fully qualified Montessori teacher in a fully equipped Montessori room.
All of our children attending Tadpoles (except sessional Montessori) have daily access to our outdoor play area that is weather permitting! Our garden has appropriate equipment and toys to keep all age groups entertained.
Please feel free to visit Tadpoles at any time to fully appreciate what we have to offer!
Safety and Security
Entry and exit from our building is controlled by CCTV. We also have controlled internal entry and exit points and intercom systems in the building so that no person can enter or exit the building without the knowledge of the staff members. Children are signed in and out and a detailed application form ensures there are procedures in place if anyone other than the child’s parents are due to collect them.
Parents must complete a detailed application procedure so that staff are aware of each child’s medical history and any special needs they may have. Each child has a daily record book which goes home with them every evening. The record book details each child’s sleep, meals, nappy changes/ toileting, medical administration and activities daily.
